On the 5th of January 2021 I went to Artsakh to be present at the first Christmas liturgy in the aftermath of the 2nd Artsakh War (2020). A spiritual life is like a photograph: it absorbs the feelings and emotions of the moment and keeps them for a long time, even forever.

It was not a festive mood; it was a mood of praying. The believers were praying, and I could not shoot because I was praying as well. Will our prayers enlighten our ways? In the circumstances, we can face the uncertainty only with prayers and without fear. It was noted by Saint Paul: We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. (2 Corinthians).

Many times, I asked myself: 'Why did the Armenian nation fail in a collective mode despite that the Armenian individuals bloomed across the globe?' I have many questions for the time being, but there are no answers at this stage. Life will reply in a few decades when the memory about us will warm up the hearts of our successors. Who knows?
